Cracking Up!

I really love this piece of artwork from the Carnegie in Pittsburgh.  I took the photograph several years ago.

And...yes, I am sooo tired of the snow and feeling slightly stressed out...How about you?

Where is the bubble wrap when you need a little release?

Remember the 'stress balls' you could squeeze if you felt stressed.  Do they still sell them?

Typing games are somewhat of a help.

Stay warm, stay hopeful, and remember...Spring is coming!

"When pigs fly...

...carry an where you walk...the butcher-man is on the prowl...choose lamb...etc..."

Snow, snow, go away! Don't come back...

Well, like everyone else around here I am tired of the snow. It was fun for a few days.  It will still be piled up through the end of March unless we get a heat wave and warm rains. Neither is likely in the near future. There are several really good things about the snow we received. We have been in a drought and the slow steady melting of the snow will help restore the natural water table. Annoying insects and poison ivy will be cut back along with any non-native snakes and other critters that do not do well in snowing climates.

I was out a bit today enjoying the sun. Even if you can't get out it is good to sit in a sunlit window and feel the warmth through the glass. Natural sunlight is a good source of Vitamin D. Drink some milk while you're sitting there and help your bones.

Onion sets are in the store...spring is around the corner. Have a good day!

-a system of moral principles: the ethics of a culture.

-the rules of conduct recognized in respect to a particular class of human actions or a particular group, culture, etc.; medical ethics; Christian ethics.

-moral principles, as of an individual: His ethics forbade betrayal of a confidence.

-that branch of philosophy dealing with values relating to human conduct, with respect to the rightness and wrongness of certain actions and to the goodness and badness of the motives and ends of such actions.

The aforementioned definition of ethics can be lost on an individual, a group, or a society; when a person, group, or gang decide that not all people are worthy of their constitutional rights.  When an innocent person is measured secretly without defense, and his or her life is ruined, ethics are not valued.  Murder is not always committed with a gun, knife, or bomb.  Murder can be carried out with a lying tongue and by a greedy manipulative selfish soulless individual.

To speak about ethics you have to have them in the first place.

Do you have ethics, morals, or standards you adhere to?

This photograph was shot February 1, 2010.
It is one of my favorite shots to date.  It looks like a painting.
One day I may get out my paints and try to do it justice.

What message do you have to share?  Trust God.

What message have you gotten?  Keep the faith.

What message is life giving you?  Don't let others make you ugly.

Did you listen?  Working on it...peeling off the with scars.

What's the message here?  Don't give into bullies!

Stay beautiful in the face of ugliness.

How Much?

How much?  Let's see...Saturday we received 20 inches of snow.  6 more inches of snow fell Tuesday, and between Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon we received 4 more.  We are up to 30 inches of snow!! Some folks received more and some a little less. It is just a bit much. Most people are tired of shoveling, me included.

I suspect that cabin fever is setting in.  If you can get out...there is the Auto Show in downtown Pittsburgh, Phipps orchids are in bloom and Doug is signing his latest book, and the Carnegie always has something going on.  Just click on the links to get more information and get out and stretch your feet.

Computer Difficulties

Due to computer difficulties I will not be posting anything new until the re-install is complete. When people are nasty, "What is one to do?"  Pray for those who mercilessly abuse you. May they get the help they need or the justice they deserve.  God knows which.

A Paris Sunset

Copyright free Yahoo images.

This picture gives a whole new meaning to 'Pretty in Pink.'  When the weather outside is cold and down right blue it is fun to take a few minutes and gaze at a painting, photograph, or picture that is warm and beautiful.  It makes a great writing prompt as well.  If you come up with a story drop me an email I'd like to read it. My story begins...

Racing to the top of the hill on foot to my friend Pierre's flat we were pleasantly surprised to see the setting of the sun and rising of the half moon back dropped against a candy cotton pink sky.  We had plans to go into the city for dinner, but was so distracted by the natural beauty of the setting sun we missed our reservations.  Opening a bottle of wine we started to create a meal out of leftovers from the night before and fresh vegetables we had picked up earlier in the day at the market.
